Since the beginning of April, 40 outbreaks of the so-called “slap virus”, also called parvovirus or infectious erythema, have been reported in Catalonia, a highly contagious disease among children, although not serious.

Infectious erythema is an infection caused by human parvovirus (B19), the symptom of which can be a rash on the cheeks, hence the name “slap virus”.
